The early 20th century saw the Duttons face new challenges, including the rise of western expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression. While the Great Depression began in America in 1929, it began early in Montana. The Great Depression began in Montana in 1918, nearly 10 years before the rest of the nation. While the rest of America was booming, Montana was struggling. Between drought and the reduced demand for agricultural products due to the end of the “Great War” (also known as World War I, 1914–1918), many farmers suffered greatly. As a result, Montana farmers defaulted on war loans, leading to the collapse of the state’s entire banking system. Between 1921 and 1925, half of Montana’s farmers lost their land. By 1925, 70,000 of Montana’s 82,000 settlers had left. In addition, 200 banks in Montana failed. Not only did the crops suffer from the drought, but there was also a locust infestation and livestock infestation. Appeared in the movie Timeless Heroes: Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford (2023). It was a different but similar feeling after Yellowstone….. I really enjoyed it and although I need to see something, it makes me feel like maybe it could be better (a tougher challenge after Yellowstone!) BUT. BUT. BUT…. It seems like the side stories are finally starting to come together…. And then it all ends – it’s clearly set up for a second season – BUT – if it doesn’t happen, you’re just wasting your time because the story hasn’t even reached the end of this first season. And there are currently no trailers or plans for a second season… This makes me so angry! It’s like going to a great restaurant and getting only tricky side dishes without the main course!!! What the hell…. Come on producers…. Fingers crossed!!!!
